60 Minutes Piece on Yemen War
60 Minutes produced a piece on the humanitarian crisis in Yemen, where 7 million people—many of them children—face starvation. The video emphasizes the UN’s response, as well as what the organization needs to fully address this horrific crisis. The piece includes interviews from UN officials at the World Food Programme (WFP) and World Health Organization (WHO) and a refugee in a camp in Djibouti.
WFP Executive Director David Beasley definitively states in his interview: “We’re on the brink of famine. If we don't receive the monies that we need in the next few months, I would say 125,000 little girls and boys will die.”
